How to Use Chrysler Roadside Assistance and Trip Interruption Protection

Vehicle breakdowns are never fun. When you are a long distance away from home, though, you will have extra concerns. If you have a Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan—Maximum Care, Added Care Plus or Powertrain Care Plus—you will have fewer problems and worries about getting safely back on the road.

Major repairs like transmission, steering, and air conditioning problems will not spell disaster to a long-awaited vacation or long weekend. Your investment in Mopar extended warranty coverage will make a vehicle breakdown a much small interruption of your vacation or weekend.

How to Use Roadside Assistance

With a Maximum Care, Added Care Plus, or Powertrain Care Plan, Roadside Assistance covers mechanical failures for the following situations when applicable:

  • Towing to the nearest dealer or repair facility when the vehicle is inoperative
  • Flat tire change (with your good spare)
  • Battery jump
  • Out-of-gas fuel delivery (maximum - 2 gallons)
  • Lockout service
* Maximum of $100 per Roadside Assistance occurrence

In addition to the above situations, Roadside Assistance can provide help with other emergency conditions. To take advantage of Chrysler Roadside Assistance in emergency situations, call the Chrysler Roadside Assistance Hotline at 800.517.4500 for prior authorization.

You should note that towing assistance is only provided when a vehicle breakdown results from mechanical disablement. Furthermore, both towing and roadside assistance are only available through your Mopar extended warranty when the vehicle is not covered by the factory warranty.

How to Use Trip Interruption

Trip Interruption Protection of up to $1,000 for helping cover lodging meals and transportation expenses such as taxi, bus, or airplane is included in most Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans. To use Trip Interruption, you must be 100 miles or more from home. Trip Interruption, like Roadside Assistance, expires at end of the Mopar Vehicle Protection contract or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Trip Interruption can be used when the vehicle is kept overnight for parts or repair at an authorized Mopar dealer or repair facility. Your repair bill for each occurrence must accompany the lodging, meals and car rental receipts, and be mailed to Vehicle Protection, P.O. Box 2700, Troy, Michigan 48007-2700.

So, if you want peace of mind with Chrysler Roadside Assistance and Trip Interruption coverage while traveling, be sure you get full warranty protection for long-term ownership of your vehicle with Maximum Care, Added Care Plus or Powertrain Plus, comprehensive factory-backed extended service warranties from Mopar.
